HENDERSON, NEVADA – The Friends of Henderson CSI (FHCSI) Crime Lab Fundraising Project received a huge boost from Anthony Zuiker.
Zuiker is the award winning Creator and Executive Producer of TV’s hit series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and its top 10 spin-offs CSI: Miami and CSI: New York. Mr. Zuiker is a 1991 graduate of UNLV and is an alumni of Chaparral High School in Las Vegas.
In an exclusive interview with Las Vegas’ KLAS-TV 8 News Anchor Gary Waddell on October 14, 2006, Zuiker stressed the need for community-wide support of a new Forensic Science Center in Henderson to increase our crime fighting capability in southern Nevada. When completed, the facility will include a full-service Forensic Crime Laboratory, evidence processing areas for Crime Scene Investigators and an Evidence Vault.
Zuiker encouraged businesses, residents and community leaders throughout the Las Vegas valley to provide financial support for the Center. He stressed the fact that the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is doing an outstanding job in forensic evidence collection and processing, but that they are, as every public crime lab in the country, overwhelmed with backlogs of forensic evidence waiting to be processed.
Zuiker said that he is going to use his name as the creator of the CSI shows to “...inform the public of the need for this project... to help maintain the quality-of-life and safety we now enjoy”.
In the interview which is expected to be broadcast soon on local Las Vegas KLAS-TV 8, Zuiker asked the audience to “visit the website [www.NevadaCSI.com] and make a contribution”. |
